Ingredients
- 1 c. flour
- dash of salt
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. butter
- 4 eggs
Method
- Preheat oven to 400°.
- Lightly grease 2 cookie sheets.
- Sift the flour and salt into a small bowl and set aside.
- In a medium-size saucepan boil the water and butter.
- Reduce the heat to low and add the flour all at once.
- Stir vigorously with a wooden spoon and cook and stir until mixture forms a ball.
- Remove from heat and cool about 3 minutes.
- Beat in eggs, one at a time, until smooth after each addition.
- Drop mixture by heaping tablespoonfuls onto the cookie sheet, about 3 inches apart.
- Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown and puffy.
- Turn off the oven.
- Slit or slice the top off each cream puff and return to the oven for about 3 minutes to dry the inside.
