Ingredients
- 4 qt. cucumbers, thinly sliced
- 2 onions, sliced
- 1/4 c. pickling salt
- 2 2/3 c. sugar
- 2 c. cider vinegar
- 1 tsp. turmeric
- 1 tsp. celery seed
- 1 Tbsp. mustard seed
Method
- Cover the cucumber slices, onions and pickling salt with ice cubes.
- Mix and let stand 3 hours.
- Drain.
- Combine rest of the ingredients and pour over cucumber mixture.
- Heat just to a boil. Seal in sterilized jars. Makes 6 pints.
