Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. peeled and deveined raw or thawed frozen medium shrimp
  • 3 minced cloves garlic
  • 1/4 c. chopped parsley
  • 1 tsp. crumbled basil
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. olive oil
  • 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 20 to 25 slices bacon, halved

Method

  • In shrimp are frozen, thaw on paper toweling to absorb moisture.
  • Combine all remaining ingredients except bacon.
  • When shrimp are completely defrosted, pour marinade over them.
  • Let shrimp marinate in refrigerate several hours.
  • Drain.
  • Wrap each shrimp in bacon and secure with toothpick.
  • Broil until shrimp are pink and bacon crisp.
  • When serving, replace burnt toothpicks with fresh ones.
  • Yields 6 appetizer servings.
