Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 c. minced onion
  • 2 c. minced celery
  • 1/4 c. parsley sprigs
  • 2 (8 ounce.) cans liquid removed mushrooms
  • 12 - 13 c. slightly dry bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon sage
  • 1 teaspoon dry thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon butter
  • 3 1/2 - 4 1/2 c. chicken or possibly turkey broth with giblets
  • 2 well beaten Large eggs

Method

  • Heat butter, saute/fry onions.
  • Pour over cubes.
  • Add in remaining ingredients, adding broth last to moisten.
  • Place in crock pot on high for 45 min.
  • Reduce to low for 6 hrs.
  • Freezes well.
