- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. Nestle butterscotch flavored morsels (1 c.)
- 1/2 c. peanut butter
- 4 c. Kellogg's Rice Krispies cereal
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. Nestle semi-sweet real chocolate morsels (1 c.)
- 1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar
- 2 Tbsp. margarine or butter, softened
- 1 Tbsp. water
Method
- In a large saucepan, melt butterscotch flavored morsels and peanut butter over very low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. Stir in cereal.
- Press half of the mixture in buttered 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
- Chill.
- Set remaining mixture aside.
- Melt over hot (not boiling) water the chocolate morsels, sugar, margarine and water, stirring constantly until smooth.
- Spread over chilled cereal mixture.
- Spread remaining cereal mixture evenly over top. Press in gently.
- Chill until firm (1 hour).
- Yields 25 squares (1 1/2 x 1 1/2-inch).
