Ingredients
- 1/2 c. butter or oleo
- 1 c. white sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1/2 to 1 c. strawberry jam
Method
- Mix by hand with long wooden spoon.
- Cream butter and add sugar.
- Cream until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs yolks and blend well.
- Add flour, mix thoroughly.
- Fold in nuts, salt and vanilla. Spoon 1/2 batter into pan.
- Spread evenly.
- Spread strawberry jam on dough.
- Cover with remaining dough.
- Bake 1 hour at 325° or until lightly browned.
- Remove from oven.
- Sprinkle powdered sugar on top.
- Cut into squares.
