Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 12 cup light Karo syrup
  • 12 cup Dark Karo syrup
  • 14 cup butter, melted
  • 3 eggs, large
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup pecans, lightly chopped
  • 1 cup coconut, flaked
  • 1 (8 ounce) package chocolate chips, semi sweet

Method

  • Preheat oven 350 degrees.
  • Bake pie crust 8 minutes.
  • In bowl, combine brown sugar, and both syrups.
  • Mix well.
  • Add eggs, butter, vanilla and salt.
  • Stir in pecan halves.
  • Place chocolate chips in bottom of pie crust.
  • Top with coconut.
  • Pour pecan mixture into over coconut.
  • Bake 350 degrees for 1 hour.
  • Cool.
