Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 5 dates or prunes, finely chopped
  • 5 figs, chopped
  • 15 dried apricot halves, finely chopped
  • 1 orange rind, grated
  • 1/2 c. oleo
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/4 c. plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • Combine raisins, dates or prunes, figs, apricots and orange rind in small bowl.
  • Set aside.
  • Cream oleo until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs and vanilla.
  • Stir in flour, soda, baking powder and spices.
  • Pour in fruit mixture and meat until blended.
  • Bake at 325° for 45 to 55 minutes.
  • Cool and store in upright container for 3 days.
  • Freezes well.
