Ingredients

  • 3 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 2 pound round steak
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 env. dry onion soup mix
  • 1 (8 ounce.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 c. water

Method

  • Note: Meat should be at room temperature before starting.
  • Pour oil in 9 x 9 inch baking dish.
  • Place in oven at 400 degrees.
  • While this heats, lb.
  • 2 Tbsp.
  • flour into each side of steak.
  • Place in heated oil, turn to coat both sides, sprinkle on soup mix.
  • Pour tomato sauce mixed with water over all.
  • Cover tightly.
  • Bake at 325 degrees for 2 1/2 hrs.
