Ingredients
- 2 lbs. hamburger
- 5 med. onions
- 7 celery stalks
- 5 med. carrots
- 5 med. potatoes
- 1/2 c. dry parsley
- 1 quart. tomatoes
- 3 tbsp. long grain rice or possibly 3 tbsp. barley
- 3 quarts. water
- 2 tbsp. salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
Method
- Approximately 4 hrs before serving, cut up vegetables and brown hamburger in a kettle.
- Drain off fat.
- Add in 1/2 onions to meat with 3 qts of water.
- Cover and simmer about 2 hrs.
- Add in remaining ingredients and simmer for 2 hrs.
- Serve with garlic bread and large green salad.
