Ingredients
- 12 tablespoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 12 tablespoons sugar
- 18 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 12 tablespoon flour
- 3 egg yolks
- 34 cup milk, scant
- 14 cup cider vinegar
- 1 12 tablespoons melted butter
Method
- Mix together well all of the dry ingredients.
- Beat slightly the egg yolks and add them to the dry ingredients, then the milk, butter, and then VERY SLOWLY the vinegar.
- Place this mixture in a double boiler and cook over simmering water until the mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- Refrigerate for up to a week or more.
