Ingredients
- 1 large sweet onion
- 1 c. water
- 1 c. vinegar
- 1 c. white sugar
Method
- Chop onion fine; combine with water, sugar and vinegar.
- Bring to a boil.
- Cool overnight.
- The next day, drain onions.
- Use white bread.
- Trim brown edges off.
- Spread mayonnaise on both sides of bread.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar and then spread onions, not too thick.
- Put together and cut into finger sandwiches.
- Can be frozen and thawed to be used later.
