Ingredients

  • 1 quart strawberries
  • 3 T. cornstarch
  • 1/2 C. water
  • 1 T. lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 C. sugar
  • 1 baked pie crust
  • 2/3 C. whipped cream, or use can of whipped cream

Method

  • Remove stems wash strawberries well. Mix half the berries with cornstarch and water. Crush and add lemon juice, salt and sugar. Cook in saucepan until mixture is thickened. Allow to cool. Pour the whole berries into baked pie crust. Cover with cooked berries. Cut into serving pieces. Serve topped with whipped cream.
  • Serve with whipped cream.
