Ingredients
- 1 (3 ounce) can sliced mushrooms
- 5 slices bacon
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1/3 cup vinegar
- 7 ounces elbow macaroni
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped green onion
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
Method
- Drain mushrooms reserving liquid.
- Add water to make 1 cup.
- In 3-quart saucepan fry bacon until crisp.
- Drain and reserve drippings.
- Crumble bacon and set aside.
- Combine sugar flour salt and 1/8 tsp pepper.
- Blend into drippings in saucepan.
- Combine vinegar and reserved 1 cup of liquid.
- Add to flour mixture and cook and stir till thickened and bubbly.
- Cook macaroni and toss with dressing and other ingredients.
