Ingredients

  • 1 (3 ounce) can sliced mushrooms
  • 5 slices bacon
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • 7 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery

Method

  • Drain mushrooms reserving liquid.
  • Add water to make 1 cup.
  • In 3-quart saucepan fry bacon until crisp.
  • Drain and reserve drippings.
  • Crumble bacon and set aside.
  • Combine sugar flour salt and 1/8 tsp pepper.
  • Blend into drippings in saucepan.
  • Combine vinegar and reserved 1 cup of liquid.
  • Add to flour mixture and cook and stir till thickened and bubbly.
  • Cook macaroni and toss with dressing and other ingredients.
