Ingredients

  • 1 (4-6 lb.) pork loin roast
  • 1/3 c. Mott's applesauce
  • 1/3 c. Grandma's molasses
  • 1/4 teaspoon grnd ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed

Method

  • Have meat retailer loosen chine (back) bone.
  • Place roast fat side up on rack in open roasting pan.
  • Insert meat thermometer with bulb in thickest part not touching bone.
  • Roast in 325 degree oven 2-2 1/2 hrs or possibly till meat thermometer registers 170 degrees.
  • In saucepan, combine applesauce, molasses, ginger and garlic over medium heat.
  • Brush pork with glaze every 10 min during last 1/2 hour of cooking.
  • Serve pork with remaining applesauce.
  • Makes 8-10 servings.
