Ingredients

  • 5 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 3 to 4 medium onions, peeled and sliced
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • dash of black pepper
  • dash of nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. thyme leaves
  • 3 Tbsp. parsley
  • 1/2 c. whipping cream
  • paprika

Method

  • Saute onions in margarine until soft and transparent.
  • In a baking dish, arrange in layers the sliced potatoes and onions. Sprinkle with garlic seasonings in between layers.
  • Bake at 350° for about 40 minutes.
  • Add whipping cream all over top.
  • Sprinkle with paprika.
  • Increase temperature to 400°.
  • Bake another 10 to 20 minutes until potatoes are soft and brown on top.
  • Serve with broiled meat.
