Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp. salad oil
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. long grain rice
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1 soup can water
  • 3 c. coarsely chopped or shredded cabbage

Method

  • Lightly brown ground beef in oil.
  • Mix in onion, salt, pepper and rice.
  • Cook 2 to 3 minutes longer.
  • Add soup and water; mix well.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Spoon cabbage into 2-quart greased casserole dish.
  • Pour meat mixture over cabbage to completely cover cabbage.
  • Do not stir.
  • Cover and bake at 325° for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
