Ingredients

  • 3 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 1/3 c. warm water
  • 2 tsp. oil

Method

  • Mix flour, salt and baking powder.
  • Add warm water and oil to flour, salt and baking powder.
  • Dough should be soft but not sticky.
  • Knead until smooth, not too much and don't use rolling pin.
  • Tear off pieces about the size of a lemon.
  • Pat and stretch until thin, about 1/4 to 1/2-inch.
  • Poke hole in center with finger.
  • Fry in hot deep fat (can use electric skillet).
  • Fry until golden brown on both sides.
  • Drain on paper towel.
