Ingredients

  • 1 c. lukewarm milk
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 sq. yeast or 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 5 Tbsp. sugar
  • 7 Tbsp. lard, melted (Wesson oil may be used)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 2/3 c. lukewarm milk
  • 4 c. flour

Method

  • Mix first four ingredients well and let rise to double size. Then add remaining ingredients.
  • Mix all together and let stand about 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Then mix real well; the more the dough is mixed, the smoother and easier to handle.
  • Dust top well with flour and set in warm place to rise double again.
