Ingredients

  • quarter red cabbage, sliced as thinly as possible
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced and zested
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 cup veganaise, or mayonaise
  • cilantro, chopped thinly
  • 1-2 t. cayenne chili powder
  • 1/2 c. canola oil
  • 1 T. Sesame seeds
  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 c. bread crumbs
  • 24 small white shrimp, shelled and veined
  • 7-8 large oysters, washed well!
  • 1 large french baguette
  • toothpicks

Method

  • 1. combine lemon juice, the minced garlic, your 'naise, chili powder and cilantro in a bowl, then mix in the shredded red cabbage quite thoroughly add pepper to taste.
  • 2. In another bowl, mix the dry ingredients; the bread crumbs, the flour and sesame seeds, you can also add a little cayenne pepper in this step as well.
  • 3. In a medium to large frying pan, heat up the oil until piping hot. Cover the shrimp and oysters with as much of the dry mix as possible. Place in pan, and cook until tender.
  • 4. the Baguette lengthwise, and slather all the ingredients onto the bread. Stick some toothpicks into the baguette after you close it to keep it from exploding over you and your fellow diners. Cut as you see fit.
