Ingredients
- 1 yellow cake mix
- 1 c. cold water
- 3/4 c. applesauce (plain or with cinnamon)
- 3 eggs
Method
- Combine ingredients and beat on high for two minutes with electric mixer.
- Pour batter into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Top generously with 1 3/4 cups sliced almonds and 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels.
- Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes. Test for doneness by inserting a toothpick in the center of cake. It should come out clean.
- Allow to cool in pan for approximately 15 minutes before serving.
