Ingredients

  • 1 to 2 lb. cooked pork roast or pieces, diced
  • 1 (8 oz.) can stewed tomatoes, cut up
  • 5 to 7 peeled, diced green chiles
  • 1/2 small onion, diced
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 can chicken broth (optional) with 1 c. water
  • 2 c. water

Method

  • Save the juice the pork was cooked in or use canned chicken broth with water.
  • Skim off fat from pork juice.
  • Add water.
  • In a deep pot, return pork juice and pork to boil.
  • Add tomatoes, onion, chile and spices.
  • Simmer for 1 hour.
