Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 2 c. tomatoes (1 lb. can)
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/2 lb. cheese
  • 4 oz. can mushrooms (optional)
  • 8 oz. mostaccioli noodles, cooked

Method

  • Heat oven to 350°.
  • Brown meat, add green peppers, mushrooms and onions.
  • Cook until tender.
  • Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, water and seasonings.
  • In a 2-quart casserole, layer half the cooked noodles, meat sauce and cheese.
  • Repeat layers.
  • Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
