Ingredients
- 1 pkg yeast (2 1/4 tsp)
- 1 1/2 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 egg beaten
- 3 tbs lard (melted)
- 5 cups flour (or less) to make the dough
Method
- Mix all the ingredients except the flour.
- Add flour gradually to wet mixture, kneading as you go.
- Should be the consistency of a dough that you can easily roll out.
- Flour board and rolling pin.
- Roll into small circles about 4 inches across.
- Fill and seal immediately, pinching and turning the edges.
- Have hot fat ready (canola, peanut, or safflower) to fry.
- It's good to have two sets of hands.
