Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. margarine, softened
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. orange juice
  • 3 c. Quaker Oats (quick or old-fashioned), uncooked
  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable shortening

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Beat margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Blend in orange juice.
  • Add combined Quaker Oats and flour, mixing well.
  • Refrigerate 10 minutes.
  • Shape into 1-inch balls.
  • Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Press into 2-inch circles.
  • Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are light golden brown.
  • Remove from cookie sheet.
  • Cool completely.
