Ingredients
- 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
- 2/3 c. granulated sugar
- 2/3 c. dark corn syrup
- 2/3 c. rolled oats, uncooked
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans (optional)
Method
- Melt butter in a heavy saucepan.
- Remove from heat and add sugar, corn syrup and oats; blend well.
- Add beaten eggs and vanilla.
- Pour mixture into unbaked pie shell.
- If desired, top with chopped nuts.
- Bake in a 325° oven for 45 minutes, or until set.
- Yields 1 pie; 6 to 8 servings.
