Ingredients

  • 1 package Yeast
  • 2 cups Warm Water, divided
  • 1/2 cups White Granulated Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 5 cups Flour
  • Raisins Or Cut Up Apples (optional)

Method

  • In a large bowl, mix yeast, 1 cup warm water, and sugar; stir until dissolved. Add salt, cinnamon, remaining cup of warm water, milk and flour as well as raisins or apples if you choose. Let rise for 1 hour in warm spot.
  • Drop in hot oil in a deep fryer by tablespoonfuls, until brown on both sides. Take out with a slotted spoon to help drain the oil, and roll in sugar.
  • I always add raisins a bit at a time.
