Ingredients

  • 2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 bunch green coriander
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 dash garam masala
  • 1 dash turmeric powder
  • 1 salt to taste
  • 1 water
  • 2 tsp oil
  • 2 medium green chillies(chopped)
  • 3 large onions(finely chopped)

Method

  • in a medium bowl mix all ingredients except water
  • mix gently 2 resemble coarse crumbs.
  • add enough water 2 form a soft dough.
  • divide the dough into equal balls.
  • roll each ball into a circle with a rolling pin dusting the parathas with a little flour at intervals until it is .5 cm thick(approx)
  • heat a non stick skillet(until it just startes 2 smoke).
  • cook paratha on the skillet on both sides until it goldens with a few brown spots by applying a little oil on each side.
  • serve with curd,butter or indian pickels
  • this is gr8 in lunch boxes!!

  • tip:dont let the dough rest as the salt dehydrates the onion & the dough tends 2 get soggy which is difficult 2 handle
