Ingredients

  • 1 c. pecans (whole or broken)
  • 1/3 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
  • 1 c. dark corn syrup
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 (9-inch) pie shell

Method

  • Preheat oven to 400°.
  • Prepare pastry shell.
  • Mix together eggs, sugar, corn syrup, butter or margarine, vanilla and salt until well blended.
  • (Use an electric mixer.)
  • Stir in pecans and pour mixture into pastry shell.
  • Bake 15 minutes, then turn oven down to 325° and bake for 25 to 30 minutes longer.
  • Cool and serve.
