Ingredients

  • 2 c. butter
  • 1 (1 lb.) box confectioners sugar plus extra for sprinkling on warm cake
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 c. sifted cake flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Method

  • In large bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • Add eggs. Add cake flour and vanilla; blend well.
  • Pour batter into lightly greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.
  • Bake in preheated 325° oven 1 hour and 20 minutes or until cake tests done.
  • Cool 5 minutes. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar, if desired.
