Ingredients
- 8 oz. basmati rice
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 3 green cardamon
- 2 cloves
- 3 peppercorns
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- water
Method
- Wash the rice twice and leave aside.
- Heat the oil in a pot. Add cardamon, cloves and peppercorns.
- Fry for about 1
- minute. Add rice and stir-fry for a further 2 minutes.
- Add salt and water; lower heat.
- (At this point, you may add chickpeas or green peas if you wish.)
- Cover and simmer over a very low heat until water has evaporated.
