Ingredients

  • 1 lb medium or large shrimp
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine or sherry
  • 1 teaspoon Spanish paprika
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • A dash Hot Sauce or pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 lemon for juice to pour when serving
  • parsley or chopped cilantro
  • Loaf or fresh baguette bread

Method

  • In low heat, cook garlic in olive oil until garlic is golden brown (be careful, garlic burns easily!) Raise heat to medium-high and add the shrimp. Add salt and pepper to taste and sprinkle with 1/2 paprika. Flip shrimp over and add salt, pepper and paprika again. (be careful not to add too much salt!)
  • Pour the wine over the shrimp and cook until done. Do not over cook!! Add hot sauce or pepper flakes if using any.
  • Transfer shrimp to plate. Squeeze lemon juice over shrimp. Sprinkle with parsley or cilantro. Serve the shrimp with fresh warm baguette.
