Ingredients

  • 1 milkfish (bangus)
  • 1 bunch mustard greens
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 3 medium size tomatoes, sliced
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 2 c. water
  • fish sauce (patis) to taste
  • 1/2 c. miso
  • 1/3 c. lemon juice

Method

  • Clean and cut fish into 5 to 6 pieces.
  • Wash mustard greens and cut in half.
  • Saute garlic, onion and tomatoes in hot oil until mushy; add miso sauce and patis.
  • Simmer 3 to 5 minutes. Add milkfish and 2 cups water; bring to a boil (boil about 10 minutes).
  • Add mustard greens and cook for 1 minute.
  • Stir in lemon juice.
  • Add patis, if desired.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Serve hot.
