Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 lb. mild pork sausage
  • 2 c. fine bread crumbs
  • 2 1/4 c. onion, diced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. oil 3 Tbsp, cornstarch
  • 1/2 c. garlic vinegar
  • 1/2 c. pineapple juice
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large green pepper, diced
  • 1 (20 oz) can pineapple chunks
  • I (8 oz) can tomato sauce

Method

  • Combine ground beef, sausage, bread crumbs, onion, eggs, salt and
  • pepper. Mix well and shape into l inch meatballs. Brown in hot oil.
  • Drain and place meatballs in a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish.
  • Combine cornstarch, vinegar, drained pineapple juice and sugar. Cook
  • over medium heat or in microwave until clear and thickened.
  • Combine with Worcestershire sauce, green pepper, pineapple chunks and
  • tomato sauce. Pour over meatballs and bake in 325° oven for 30 to 35
  • minutes.
  • Makes about 6 dozen, depending on size of meatballs.
