- 2-1/2 cups All-purpose Flour
- 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
- 2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoons Nutmeg
- 4 teaspoons Ground Ginger
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 3/4 cups Softened Butter
- 1 cup Packed Dark Brown Sugar
- 1-1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
- 1 Egg
- 1/4 cups Fancy Molasses
- 1/3 cups White Sugar, For Rolling
Method
- Combine dry ingredients in a bowl.
- Combine butter, brown sugar, and vanilla in another bowl. Then add the egg and molasses.
- Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients. Mix well. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and roll in white sugar. Bake at 340°F for 9 minutes-no more. They will seem under-baked, but that is what you want. Cool for a few minutes on the cookie sheet before moving to a wire rack.
