Ingredients
- soup bones
- 2 lb. stewing beef
- water to cover bones
- 16 oz. can stewed tomatoes
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1 pkg. pot herbs
- 1 lb. mixed vegetables
- 1/2 c. shredded cabbage (optional)
- 2 beef bouillon cubes
Method
- In large soup pot place bouillon cubes, bones, meat and pot herbs; cover with water.
- Simmer for 1 hour.
- Add to pot stewed tomatoes and tomato sauce.
- Simmer 1/2 hour.
- Remove pot herbs, meat and bones.
- Add veggies; simmer 1/2 hour more. Serves approximately 6.
- Serve hot.
- Tastes better next day.
