Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter (2 sticks)
  • 3/4 c. white sugar
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • hot water
  • 2 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts

Method

  • Cream the butter, then add both sugars and cream until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Dissolve baking soda in 1/8 cup hot water and add to mixture.
  • Blend in flour well. Stir in nuts. Using a cookie scoop or level soup spoon, drop
  • dough onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375° for 12 to 15 minutes.
