Ingredients
- 1 cup milk use almond milk for vegan/dairy-free
- 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
- 1 dash cinnamon
- 1 dash salt
- 1 dash ground ginger
- 1 large egg
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce
- 1 apple cored and chopped
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
Method
- Bring the milk to a boil in a saucepan.
- Add the oats to the milk, reduce the heat, and let cook at a simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add cinnamon, salt, ginger, applesauce, and egg to the oats, and whisk for 1 minute until the egg is cooked and the oats are creamy in texture.
- Add the apple and cook until soft. Stir in the chia seeds, remove from heat, and serve immediately.
