Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk use almond milk for vegan/dairy-free
  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1 dash cinnamon
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1 dash ground ginger
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 apple cored and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

Method

  • Bring the milk to a boil in a saucepan.
  • Add the oats to the milk, reduce the heat, and let cook at a simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Add cinnamon, salt, ginger, applesauce, and egg to the oats, and whisk for 1 minute until the egg is cooked and the oats are creamy in texture.
  • Add the apple and cook until soft. Stir in the chia seeds, remove from heat, and serve immediately.
