Ingredients

  • 3 c. cooked fresh apples
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/4 c. cornstarch
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp. margarine

Method

  • Cook fresh apples until half done in 1 cup of water.
  • Thicken this mixture with cornstarch and 1/4 cup water.
  • Mix with brown sugar, cinnamon and butter.
  • Pour into unbaked pie shell.
  • Top crust can be cut in strips.
  • Lay across the pie vertically, then horizontally.
  • Brush with melted margarine.
  • Sprinkle with cinnamon and white sugar.
