Ingredients
- 6 large eggs, slightly beaten
- 4 c. milk
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. melted margarine or butter
- 3 tsp. vanilla
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 1 1/2 c. or 1 (32 oz.) jar or can unsweetened applesauce
- 6 large or 12 small slices Italian bread
Method
- Soak raisins in hot water to plump.
- Combine eggs, sugar, applesauce and milk.
- Stir in butter, vanilla, cinnamon and raisins.
- Tear bread into 1-inch pieces and add until bread is coated (you can use bread ends).
