Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. lukewarm water
  • 3 eggs
  • 7 c. flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/2 c. sugar

Method

  • Dissolve yeast and 1 tablespoon sugar
  • in water.
  • Scald milk, add shortening, sugar and salt.
  • Cool
  • to
  • lukewarm
  • and add 2 cups flour.
  • Beating with electric mixer,
  • add yeast and eggs. Beat well and add remainder of flour
  • to
  • make
  • soft dough. Knead lightly and
  • place
  • in
  • greased bowl.
  • Cover and set in warm place and
  • let
  • rise
  • until
  • double in bulk.
  • When light, punch down and shape into rolls or buns.
