Ingredients
- 3 c. canned Italian-style plum tomatoes
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1/4 tsp. ground pepper
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. olive oil
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 c. chopped onions
Method
- Saute onions in olive oil over medium heat until transparent. Add remaining ingredients (except oregano) and stir.
- Simmer, uncovered, for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add oregano and continue cooking for 15 minutes.
- Remove bay leaf.
- Spread evenly over pizza dough.
- (Remember to prick the dough first before applying sauce.)
