Ingredients
- 1 pkg Devil Food cake mix, baked per manufacturer instructions
- 1 jar maraschino cherries
- 1 can cherry pie filling
- 1 tub whipped cream
Method
- Prepare Devil Food cake per manufacturer's instructions. Bake in 2-8 or 9-inch round cake pans. Once baked, cool cakes on wire rack.
- Place one cake on decorative plate (I place upside down to get a flat surface to build on). Spoon juice from jar of maraschino cherries onto cake to taste. Spread cherry pie filling onto cake. Top with second layer of cake. Spoon more maraschino cherry juice onto top layer of cake, if desired. Spread whipped cream onto top layer of cake and decorate with maraschino cherries.
