Ingredients
- 2 c. milk
- 1/2 c. shortening or margarine
- 3 c. Pillsbury bread flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1 egg
Method
- In a saucepan, heat milk and shortening until shortening is melted.
- In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, salt and yeast.
- Gradually stir in hot liquid.
- Add egg and stir well.
- Mix in enough flour for kneading consistency.
- Knead 5 minutes.
- Cover dough and let rest 10 minutes.
- Pinch off a small piece of dough and shape for rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased pan.
- When pan is filled, cover rolls and let rise in a warm place, free from draft, 45 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 325°.
- Bake 20 minutes.
- Makes about 3 dozen.
