Ingredients
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1 c. butter (not oleo)
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- pinch of cream of tartar
- 1 (12.3 oz. box) or 10 c. Crispix
- 2 c. mixed nuts
Method
- Mix brown sugar, corn syrup and butter in heavy 2-quart saucepan and boil for 5 minutes.
- Do not stir! Remove from heat and stir in baking soda and cream of tartar.
- Mix well and pour over Crispix and nuts.
- Stir to coat.
- Spread in large, buttered roaster.
- Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.
- Cool 10 minutes.
- Stir and break into pieces.
- Cool completely and store in covered container.
- (Good for popcorn, too.)
