Ingredients

  • 5 pieces bread, buttered on both sides
  • 1/2 lb. Swiss cheese
  • 4 eggs, well beaten
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • dash of pepper
  • 1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 can mushrooms

Method

  • Place bread in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  • Grate the cheeses; mix together and sprinkle on bread.
  • Mix together the eggs, milk, dry mustard, salt and pepper.
  • Beat well.
  • Pour over cheese.
  • Sprinkle mushrooms over top.
  • Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • Remove from refrigerator 1 hour before baking.
  • Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
