Ingredients

  • hash browns
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 2/3 c. hot water
  • 3 Tbsp. margarine
  • 2/3 c. milk
  • grated cheese

Method

  • Brown ground beef.
  • Stir in water, margarine and hash browns. Heat to boiling over high heat until margarine is melted.
  • Reduce heat to medium high, press beef and hash browns down evenly.
  • Cook uncovered, do not turn or stir until liquid is absorbed and bottom is brown.
  • Cut small sections and turn sections to continue browning.
  • Press firmly and continue cooking about 2 minutes or until brown.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir milk and cheese together and pour over the top.
  • Do not mix together.
