Ingredients

  • 3 c. self-rising meal
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 Tbsp. melted shortening
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • milk
  • 1 c. chopped celery
  • 1 c. chopped onion
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • chicken broth
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

  • Combine first 4 ingredients and mix with enough milk to make soft mixture.
  • Bake at 450° until light brown.
  • Cool and crumble bread, then add celery, onions, soup, eggs, salt and pepper and enough broth to make a soupy mixture.
  • Cook in 350° oven until light brown, but not hard.
  • It should be soft when ready to eat, but not runny.
