- 2 lb. hamburg
- 2 onions, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- oregano
- basil
- crushed red pepper
- salt
- 2 c. tomatoes, drained (1 big jar)
- 2 large (16 oz. each) cans tomato sauce
- 2 small paste
- 2 large cans red kidney beans
Method
- Saute beef until brown.
- Pour of fat.
- Add onions, pepper, garlic and spices.
- Mix well.
- When onion and pepper are tender, stir in tomatoes, sauce and paste.
- Mix well.
- Bring to a boil. Break up tomatoes with a fork.
- Cover and simmer slowly until thick and flavors blend, about 40 minutes.
- Add beans.
- Simmer 10 minutes or until hot.
