- 1 doz. medium green tomatoes
- 2 1/2 doz. medium red tomatoes
- 5 lb. onions
- 2 Tbsp. salt
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 3 lb. sugar
- 2 hot red peppers
- 3 hot green peppers
- 5 sweet green peppers
- 3 sweet red peppers
- 1 qt. vinegar
Method
- Peel tomatoes and onions and slice.
- Chop pepper and mix all ingredients together in a large 7-quart canner.
- Cook over low heat until this mixture thickens, about 3 hours.
- Put in jars and seal.
- Good served with beans and other vegetables.
